Mets RHP Carlos Carrasco’s hamstring injury has been classified as a tear, per Anthony DiComo. Carrasco suffered the injury during drills yesterday. As far as a timeline, DiComo notes that a partial tear could take weeks, and a complete tear could be much longer. Here’s hoping it’s nothing too serious.

The Cubs have added RHP Ryan Jensen and RHP Ryan Meisinger to their 75-player spring training pool, per Jordan Bastian. Both players will head directly to minor league camp.

More Mets notes from Anthony DiComo: manager Luis Rojas has mentioned multiple times how impressed he’s been with RHP Corey Oswalt; the team is beginning to stretch out LHP Mike Montgomery. Montgomery has 70 starts in his six-year career.
Padres SS Fernando Tatis Jr.returned to the lineup last night. He went 0-2 with a walk.
Nationals RHP Stephen Strasburg will throw a sim game today, Dave Martinez told reporters. Martinez noted Strasburg had no issues after his bullpen session on Wednesday.
RHP Sandy Alcantara will be the opening day starter for the Marlins.
RHP Brandon Woodruff will be the opening day starter for the Brewers.
White Sox manager Tony La Russa told reporters that C Yasmani Grandal is a definite option to bat second in the lineup to begin the season.
Notes from Cardinals manager Mike Shildt: LHP Kwang Hyun Kim (back) threw an aggressive side session yesterday. He’ll progress to a sim game/ live BP next but it’s too early to tell if he’ll be ready for his first turn in the rotation; RHP Miles Mikolas (shoulder) played catch yesterday and will do so again before mapping out a plan for return; Paul Goldschmidt will likely be the team’s #2 hitter to begin the season.
Mets 1B/OF Dominic Smith (wrist) will be held out until at least Sunday as the team remains cautious regarding his wrist injury.
