Daily Baseball Update - 4/26/2021
In baseball the last 24 hours: Tatis Jr. is not human, MadBum has a 7 inning no-no, & more.
Good afternoon. Apologies for the delay.
It’s April 26th, 2021 and here’s everything that happened in the world of baseball yesterday.
The Most Important Thing
D-Backs LHP Madison Bumgarner threw a no-hitter yesterday, sorta. Because the game was part of a doubleheader, it was only 7 innings (due to MLBs dumb rules this season.) So officially it will not count in the record books as a no-hitter. It was a great performance nonetheless and another much needed one for Bumgarner, who was pretty terrible in his first three starts before beginning to turn it around last Sunday against the Nationals.
Bumgarner’s line yesterday against the Braves: 7 IP, 7 K, 0 H, 0 BB

Luis Patino (included in the Blake Snell trade) made his debut with the Rays yesterday and went 2.2 scoreless innings with 3 strikeouts.
CJ Cron, Rockies: 4-5, 2 RBI
Bryce Harper, Phillies: 2-4, 2 HR
Michael Kopech, White Sox: 5 IP, 10 K, 0 BB, 1 ER

Foul Tips
The Padres/Dodgers rivalry is becoming pretty doggone interesting. Fernando Tatis, Jr. lit up Trevor Bauer for two home runs on Saturday night, covered one eye rounding the bases to mock Bauer’s spring training “experiment,” was accused at looking at the catcher’s sign, and got into a Twitter spat with Bauer.
God bless and good day!
