Reds OF Nicolas Castellanos was ejected after the benches cleared during Saturday’s Reds/Cardinals game.
White Sox C/DH Yermin Mercedes began the season 8-8. He’s the first player since 1900 to do so. At 28, he had 1 career appearance (off the bench) before this season. Incredible.
Shohei Ohtani last night against the White Sox: 4.2 IP, 7 Ks, 5 BBs, 2 Hs. 1-3 HR.
Philllies RHP Zack Wheeler on Saturday: 7 IP, 1 H, 10 Ks, 0 BBs. He also went 2-3 with 2 RBIs.
From @MLBRandomStats: Mike Trout swung at a 3-0 pitch that was out of the strike zone for the first time in nearly five years.

Blue Jays moves: outrighted C Reese McGuire and INF Breyvic Valera to the team’s alternate site; moved RHP Kirby Yates (elbow) to the 60-day; recalled LHP Tommy Milone; optioned RHP Joel Payamps to the taxi squad.
Reds moves: optioned RHP Edgar Garcia to the team’s alternate site; designated C Deivy Grullon for assignment; claimed C Beau Taylor off waivers from the Indians.

Injuries/Chatter
Angels 28 year old RHP Ty Buttrey announced he is retiring from baseball. He explained: "As time went on baseball became more of a business and less of a game. I couldn't help but notice my love and passion for this game started to diminish.”
Today’s Nationals/Braves game has been postponed as Washington continues to deal with a COVID situation. They are aiming to play on Tuesday, Ken Rosenthal reports.
The Nationals are among several teams considering free agent RHP Anibal Sanchez, per Jon Heyman.
SS Tim Anderson left last night’s game against the Angels with left hamstring tightness and is day-to-day.
A’s OF Chad Pinder left yesterday’s game against the Astros with a left knee sprain. He will have an MRI on Monday.
Diamondbacks RHP Joakim Soria was pulled from yesterday’s game with an apparent leg injury.
Orioles OF Austin Hays left yesterday’s game with hamstring discomfort. He will be re-evaluated today.
Twins OF Byron Buxton left yesterday’s game with a non-COVID illness. Dan Hayes reports it is not serious.
Braves RHP Chris Martin left yesterday’s game with what David O’Brien called an “apparent injury or at least soreness of some kind.”
Nationals 2018 first round pick RHP Mason Denaburg recently had Tommy John surgery, Mark Zuckerman relayed. Denaburg has dealt with injuries throughout his career.
Marlins RHP Eleiser Hernandez left Saturday’s game with bicep inflammation.
Rockies RHP Jon Gray left Saturday's game with full-body cramping.
