• More Diamondback news: Torey Lovullo told reporters LHP Caleb Smith, who struggled in the spring and last week, is being moved to the bullpen.

• Surgery is on the table for A’s RHP Trevor Rosenthal, manager Bob Melvin told reporters. A decision will be made over the next few days.

• Braves RHP Mike Soroka will be shut down for two weeks with right shoulder inflammation. manager Brian Snitker told reporters. He felt discomfort while pitching at the team’s alternate site on Tuesday.

• Pirates 3B Ke’Bryan Hayes (wrist) is making daily improvements, Alex Stumpf relays from Pirates sports medicine director Todd Tomczyk. He is throwing an doing limited baseball activities, but not catching or swinging a bat at the moment.

• Mariners OF Kyle Lewis (knee) could return for the team’s next homestand that begins on April 16th, relays Corey Brock.

• Yankees OF Aaron Judge sat out yesterday’s game with what manager Aaron Boone called general soreness.

• Dodgers OF Mookie Betts was out of yesterday’s lineup with lower back stiffness.

• Free agent RHP Anibal Sanchez will throw a bullpen for teams in Miami on Saturday, reports Jon Heyman. Sanchez spent last season in Washington, with a 6.62 ERA over 53 innings.

• Padres OF Trent Grisham will likley be activated before tomorrow’s game at Texas, notes Kevin Acee.

• Giants LHP Alex Wood (back) made a start at the team’s alternate site scrimmage yesterday, per Alex Pavolvic.

• Rockies 2B Chris Owings left yesterday’s game with right leg soreness.

• OF Cody Bellinger (calf) won’t play in the Dodgers home opener on Friday, manager Dave Roberts told reporters. He mentioned a trip to the IL is still possible.

• White Sox OF Billy Hamilton left last night’s game with hamstring tightness.
