Injuries/Chatter
Diamondbacks OF Ketel Marte left last night’s game with a leg injury. Manager Torey Lovullo told reporters he felt his leg cramping on the way down the line and the extent of the injury is unknown.
More Diamondback news: Torey Lovullo told reporters LHP Caleb Smith, who struggled in the spring and last week, is being moved to the bullpen.
Surgery is on the table for A’s RHP Trevor Rosenthal, manager Bob Melvin told reporters. A decision will be made over the next few days.
Braves RHP Mike Soroka will be shut down for two weeks with right shoulder inflammation. manager Brian Snitker told reporters. He felt discomfort while pitching at the team’s alternate site on Tuesday.
Pirates 3B Ke’Bryan Hayes (wrist) is making daily improvements, Alex Stumpf relays from Pirates sports medicine director Todd Tomczyk. He is throwing an doing limited baseball activities, but not catching or swinging a bat at the moment.
