A’s moves: purchased the contract of RHP Deolis Guerra; moved RHP Trevor Rosenthal from the 10-day IL to the 60-day IL; placed LHP A.J. Puk (biceps) on the 10-day IL.
The Red Sox activated LHP Eduardo Rodriguez from the 10-day IL.
The Diamondbacks placed OF Ketel Marte on the 10-day IL and recalled INF Andy Young from the team’s alternate site.
White Sox moves: placed OF Billy Hamilton (hamstring) on the 10-day IL; purchased the contract of OF Nick Williams; transferred LHP Jace Fry from the 10-day IL to the 60-day IL.
The Mets placed RHP Dellin Betances (shoulder) on the 10-day IL and purchased the contract of RHP Trevor Hildenberger.
Injuries/Chatter
Multiple suspicious baseballs from Dodgers RHP Trevor Bauer were sent to MLB for investigating, per Ken Rosenthal. From the story: “The balls had visible markings and were sticky, and were sent to the league offices for further inspection, the sources said.”
Blue Jays OF George Springer has a low-grade strain in his right quad, manager Charlie Montoya told reporters. He will not be ready during the team’s current homestand.
Angels RHP Luke Bard will have season-ending hip surgery later this month, says Jeff Fletcher.
Astros RHP Enoli Paredes left last night’s game after he “did something to his side” according to manager Dusty Baker.
Angels RHP Shohei Ohtani will skip his next start in the rotation due to a blister. Jeff Fletcher notes he is expected to pitch sometime next week.
Brewers 2B Kolten Wong received a standing ovation yesterday in his return to St. Louis and took an AB with tears in his eyes. Cool video. He unfortunately re-aggravated his oblique injury later in the game and was pulled.
Astros OF Michael Brantley (wrist) returned to the Astros lineup yesterday and went 1-4.
Cardinals 1B Paul Goldscmidt was out of yesterday’s lineup due to lower back tightness.
Tigers pitching coach Chris Fetter has rejoined the team and will be traveling on the upcoming road trip. He tested positive for COVID late in spring training.
