Free agent RHP Shane Greene is in discussions with multiple teams, per Jon Heyman. Greene had a very solid 2.60 ERA in 28 appearances last season.
The Mariners traded C Jacob Nottingham to the Mariners for cash considerations.
Phillies LHP Jose Alvarado was suspended three games by MLB for his role in the benches clearing incident in Friday’s Mets/Phillies game. Here’s the video. Alvarado is appealing the suspension.
Dodgers moves: transferred RHP Corey Knebel from the 10-day IL to the 60-day IL; purchased the contract of LHP Mike Kickham; placed RHP Dustin May (arm) on the 10-day IL.
Braves moves: placed C Travis d'Arnaud (thumb) on the 60-day IL; placed C Alex Jackson (hamstring) on the 10-day IL; recalled C William Contreras from the team's alternate site; selected the contract of C Jeff Mathis.
Reds moves: claimed RHP Ashton Goudeau off waivers from the Rockies; activated 3B Jonathan India from the IL; optioned OF Mark Payton to the team's alternate site.
Blue Jays moves: activated RHP Ross Stripling from the 10-day IL; placed LHP Tommy Milone (shoulder) on the 10-day IL; placed C Alejandro Kirk (hip) on the 10-day IL.
The A’s placed LHP Jesus Luzardo (hand) on the 10-day IL. He broke a bone while playing video games. Seriously.
The White Sox will place OF Luis Robert on the 10-day IL with a strained right hip flexor. Robert was removed from yesterday’s game after running out a single.
Mariners moves: placed RHP Casey Sadler (shoulder) on the 10-day IL; recalled RHP Erik Swanson from the team's alternate site.
Injuries/Chatter
Phillies OF Bryce Harper was back in the lineup yesterday and went 1-4. He had missed the previous 3 games after taking a pitch to the face.
Dodgers RHP Brandon Morrow has been shut down and is not expected to pitch this season, manager Dave Roberts told reporters. Morrow was a non-roster invite this spring for Los Angeles.
Royals RHP Jakob Junis is moving to the bullpen, per GM Dayton Moore. An interesting move considering Junis has a 3.47 ERA and 10.4 K/9 in 4 starts this season.
More on the Royals: Dayton Moore announced that LHP prospect Daniel Lynch will be called up to make his MLB debut today against the Indians.
Rockies SS Trevor Story was removed from yesterday’s game after taking a pitch to the hand. Thankfully, x-rays were negative and the Rockies expect him to be fine.
Braves C Travis d’Arnaud will require surgery after being diagnosed with a torn thumb ligament.
