The Most Important Thing

A couple brutal injury notes to two of the game’s young stars. First, Dodgers pitcher Dustin May is done for the year and part of next year with TJS.

Next, White Sox OF Luis Robert will be out for at least 3-4 months with a hip injury. He joins fellow Chicago OF Eloy Jimenez on the IL.

Injuries/Chatter
Angels RHP Shohei Ohtani was scratched from last night’s start against the Rays due to taking a pitch to the elbow. He was still in the lineup as a DH and hit a home run (of course.)
The Rockies are expected to name scouting VP Bill Schmidt as their interim GM to replace Jeff Bridich, per Thomas Harding.
Angels 3B Anthony Rendon was pulled from last night’s game after fouling a ball off of his knee. X-rays were negative and he’s listed as day-to-day.
The Dodgers are encouraged with how LHP David Price’s hamstring is improving, per Jon Morosi. Morosi notes he’s likely to join the active roster before the end of the month. He also notes that RHP Tony Gonsolin will be stretched out soon and take the place of Dustin May in the rotation.
White Sox RHP Reynaldo Lopez had surgery on both of his eyes to deal with blurred vision, per James Fegan. He should return to the Triple-A roster in three weeks.
Blue Jays C Alejandro Kirk is expected to miss at least six weeks with a hip flexor strain, per Ben Wagner.
