Randy Miller says the Yankees haven’t made OF Brett Gardner an offer or even started negotiations yet.
RHP Stetson Allie agreed to a minor league deal with a spring training invite with Tampa Bay. Allie, 29, has yet to make his major league debut.
INF Jed Lowrie is returning to the A’s on a minor league deal with a spring training invite, the team announced. Lowrie spent 2013-2018 in Oakland and was an All-Star in 2018.
From the Yankees official Twitter: The Yankees have signed RHP Darren O’Day to a one-year contract extending through the 2021 season with a player option for 2022. If the player option is declined, there is a club option for 2022. To make room on the 40-man roster, RHP Ben Heller was designated for assignment.
The Mets and RHP Jake Arrieta continue to have discussions, per Andy Martino. Martino says the Mets are also interested in LHP James Paxton.
More from Martino: The Mets are all over the SP market and that includes names beyond Arrieta and Paxton. “Strategy appears to be engaging with many of the remaining options and see who you reel in.”
RHP Braden Shipley and the Reds have an agreement on a minor league deal with a spring training invite, per Mark Sheldon.
OF Matt Joyce has agreed to a minor league deal with the Phillies. The 2011 All-Star spent last season with Miami.
The Reds claimed IF Max Schrock off waivers from the Cubs, per Mark Sheldon.
RHP Blake Parker is deciding between three offers, says Jon Heyman, and one of those is an MLB offer. Parker had a 2.81 ERA over 16 innings last season with Philadelphia.
RHP Joey Krehbiel will sign a minor league deal with a spring training invite with the Rays, per Marc Topkin.
Nelson Cruz’s one year, $13 million deal with Minnesota is now official.
The Phillies two year, $28 million deal with Didi Gregorious is now official.
RHP Mike Foltynewicz’s one year, $2 million contract with the Rangers is now official. Rangers designated OF Adolis Garcia for assignment to make room for Foltynewicz.
Joe Giradi told reporters that Jean Segura will be the team’s starting 2B to start the season. Scott Kingery will compete for playing time at other positions. More on the Phillies from Todd Zolecki: Phillies say they still have not made a decision on Odubel Herrera coming to camp as a non-roster invitee. CF really is the only job up for grabs for Phillies.
The Harrisburg Senators announced they have officially signed on to remain the AA affiliate of the Nationals.
New York governor Andrew Cuomo announced that arenas and stadiums seating more that 10,000 people can have 10% capacity beginning February 23rd.
