The Most Important Thing


With spring training a little over two weeks away, six-time All-Star and 2011 MVP Ryan Braun tells Adam McCalvy he’s “not currently interested in playing.” Braun has not made an All-Star game since 2015, with a .277/.377.502 line from 2016-2020.
Everything Else
RHP Steve Cishek will sign a minor league deal with a spring training invite with the Astros, per Chandler Rome. He will earn $2.25 million if he makes the major league club.
RHP Nate Jones will sign a minor league deal with a spring training invite with the Braves, per Ken Rosenthal.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told Bill Plunkett that OF Cody Bellinger has been taking one-handed swings and is progressing toward taking full swings once full-squad workouts begin. He will be under no limits defensively once workouts start. Bellinger had right shoulder surgery in November.
Marc Topkin notes LHP Ryan Yarbrough had his arbitration hearing today. Yarbrough is seeking $3.1M, while the Rays offered $2.3M .
