Good morning. Only four days until actual games!
It’s February 24th, 2021 and here’s everything that happened in the world of baseball from 5:00 PM EST yesterday to 9:00 AM EST today.
The Most Important Thing
No groundbreaking news over the last 16 hours.
OF Ryan Noda has been sent to the Dodgers to complete the Ross Stripling trade from last August. The deal was originally RHP Kendall Williams and a PTBNL. That player, finally, has been announced as Noda. Noda’s highest level so far is high-A, where he hit .238/.372/.418.
Everything Else
RF Aaron Judge says the Yankees haven’t come to him with any plan on an extension.
RHP Hobie Harris is being added to the Blue Jays’ major league camp, per Shi Davidi. Harris spent the 2019 season in high-A for the Yankees.
Astros GM James Click on extension discussions with SS Carlos Correa: “We felt like it was more likely to have a chance if we could get into camp and have the conversations. It’s a high priority. We’re going to get to it. But we want to make sure that we put in the work before we really dig in, but we have talked about what is most important to him and that will give us some direction on how we can try to line this up.”
More from the Astros: CF Myles Straw is a candidate to bat leadoff.
Mets owner Steve Cohen is back on Twitter after taking a break during the Gamestop stock hysteria.
